  • Q. How can I find out if there are any vacancies at Honda of the UK Manufacturing Ltd?

    Our vacancies are posted on our careers website. If you don’t see anything that is suitable, please leave a copy of your CV under “speculative applications”.

  • Q. How do I apply for an advertised position?

    You can apply online by uploading your CV. Full instructions on how to apply are included in the detail for each role.

  • Q. Do you accept speculative applications?

    Yes. If you don’t see an advertised position today, then please upload your CV under “speculative applications” so that we can consider you should a suitable vacancy arise in the future.

  • Q. How will my application be evaluated?

    Not only will we consider your skills and experience, we will also consider your ‘will and potential’ to join our team at Honda. We continuously strive to develop objective assessment methods to ensure that all candidates are measured appropriately.

  • Q. How long should I expect to be at the Assessment Day?

    The assessment day will last approximately five hours and light refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

  • Q. How long is the second interview likely to take?

    This is dependent on the particular role but will normally last between two and four hours.

  • Q. How long will the full recruitment process take?

    This will depend on the individual campaign. However, it can take anything up to three months from the date of your application to the offer.

  • Q. Do I have to provide evidence that I am eligible to work in the UK?

    Yes. You must provide evidence of your eligibility to live and work full time in the UK and this will be required at the beginning of the Assessment Day should you be invited for an interview.

  • Q. If I am not an EU citizen, do I have to provide evidence that I am eligible to work in the UK?

    Yes. You must provide evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.

  • Q. What if I am not currently eligible to work in the UK?

    Unfortunately, if you are not currently able to provide evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK, we would not be able to consider your application.

  • Q. Will Honda help me to get a work permit if I'm not an EC national?

    No. It is your responsibility to obtain the work permit and any application will be subject to your being able to provide the necessary evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Q. Will Honda pay my travelling expenses for an interview?

    We will pay reasonable travelling expenses from the second interview process, and further information will be provided prior to the second interview date.

  • Q. Will my contract have a probationary period?

    Yes. All new Associates are subject to a probationary period which is normally a minimum of three months.

  • Q. Can you tell me what the salary is for a position before I apply?

    We offer a competitive remuneration package and the salary range for each vacancy is generally advertised with the specific role.

  • Q. Can you send me a job description so that I can prepare for my interview?

    We do not have job descriptions at Honda although each Associate is assigned to a particular role. This increases our overall flexibility and individual opportunities and means that you can potentially be assigned anywhere in the business.

  • Q. What hours will I be required to work?

    Our standard working week is 37 hours basic and overtime is required on a regular basis. The actual times will depend on the shift to which you are assigned but all working arrangements will be explained to you during the recruitment process.

  • Q. Will I have to work shifts?

    Depending on the role to which you are assigned, you may have to work shifts. Where this is a requirement, you will receive payment of a shift premium which reflects the shift pattern worked.

  • Q. How many annual holidays will I get?

    Every Associate is entitled to 25 days annual holiday plus 8 statutory Public Holidays. We have a number of fixed holidays throughout the year and in general, most Associates take this time off as the plant will shutdown for the fixed holiday periods.

  • Q. If I am taken on a Fixed Term Contract (FTC), will this lead to a permanent job?

    Any candidate employed on an FTC will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent role as and when these are advertised periodically throughout the year.

  • Q. If I currently live outside of the UK, will my travel expenses be reimbursed?

    We will pay your travelling expenses from the second interview process onwards. However, you will be responsible for your own travel and accommodation arrangements and expenses for the first interview.

  • Q. If I live outside of the UK, will I have to attend the manufacturing facility at Swindon for my interview?

    Yes. The Assessment Day will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the Honda Philosophy and a plant tour which is a fundamental part of our recruitment process.

  • Q. Can I have an interview via Skype or video conference call?

    No. The Assessment Day will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the Honda Philosophy and a plant tour which is a fundamental part of our recruitment process and as such, an interview via Skype or video conferencing is not possible.

  • Q. If I currently live outside of the Swindon or Wiltshire or even the UK area, will Honda help me to relocate?

    We offer a Relocation Assistance Package in some cases and the precise package will depend on the position you have applied for, your base location and your personal circumstances. Details will be provided at the offer stage.
